Some recipes are discovered in test kitchens. This one was discovered the way all great snack recipes are: someone had churros, someone had a blender, and someone asked "what if." What if, indeed.
The base recipe
- 2 generous scoops vanilla ice cream (dairy-free works beautifully)
- 1/2 cup milk of your choice
- 3 warm Churro Bites — yes, warm, this matters
- Blend short: 15–20 seconds. You want churro pieces, not churro dust.
The warm bites soften into the cold shake, leaving cinnamon-sugar ribbons and soft doughy pockets throughout. It drinks like a churro con leche that went to a diner.
The three variants
Cinnamon Horchata-ish: cinnamon bites, a dash of extra cinnamon, oat milk base. Creamy, spiced, dangerously drinkable.
Vanilla Double-Down: vanilla bites, vanilla bean ice cream, splash of maple. Serve with a fourth bite balanced on the rim like a tiny trophy.
The Chocolate Commitment: chocolate bites, chocolate ice cream, spoonful of cacao powder. Not a beverage. An event.
The garnish law
Every shake gets one whole warm Churro Bite on top or on the rim. This is non-negotiable — it's the difference between a smoothie and a statement. Photograph before drinking; tag @craverlyy #CraveBetter.
Fair warning: one box makes about six shakes. This information is provided without judgment.
